It's a Miracle: Hamann's 540 horsepower Ferrari F430

Hamann's 540 horsepower Ferrari F430
If nothing else, the Hamann Black Miracle - the German tuner's latest take on the Ferrari F430 - is certainly distinctive. Glacing at the car's matte black foil with contrasting orange, red, or yellow racing stripes, painted mirrors, wheels, and ground effects, the words "raw"and "brutal" come to mind.

Those adjectives should likely describe the driving experience as well. Programmed engine management and a sports exhaust conspire to boost output by 50 horses (for a total of 540 horsepower), shorter and stiffer springs tighten up the handling, and the rear wing and diffuser add downforce to the rear of the car. Lightweight, three-piece 20-inch wheels are also fitted for reduced rotational mass, resulting in quicker acceleration and reduced braking distances.

The Black Miraclealso comes with acustom-upholstered interioroutfitted tocustomer specification, a more aggressive front airdam and side skirts, and wing doors. We're not too sure about the doors, but when attached toa 540 horsepower, matte black F430, we could make do. Want your very own Black Miracle? More informationis avaliable at Hamann's website.

Ferrari dictated that luxury and practicality befitting the world's premier production sports car were also to be encompassed. Even as the Testarossa exerted a pull on the hearts and minds of car lovers, not to mention designers, Ferrari did not sit on their laurels. 1984's Testarossa evolved into the 512TR of 1991 and the F512M of 1995. With each evolution the styling, interior, and drivetrain were enhanced in a car that was always capable of speeds exceeding 180mph, accelerated to 60mph in approximately 5 seconds, and attained almost 0.9G lateral acceleration.
